A special welcome to John-Princely Croos (Princely to his friends), as Associate Minister at St. Paul's, and Chaplain to the Tamil Community.
Princely was licensed on 12th July 2007, by the Bishop of Barking, to St.Paul's for one year, to explore the role of Chaplain to the Tamil Community.
Please see our Tamil Fellowship page for details of our new services for Tamil speakers.
If you want to understand what motivates us, please see our Vision Statement and our Mission page.
For recent happenings and news on forthcoming events - please see our Coming Soon page, and for details of Community Projects based at our centre, please see the Linked Projects page.
Saint Paul's is the Parish Church on the 'Burges Estate'.
The whole of the UK is divided into parishes (usually comprising a village or community),
and our parish is roughly that area known by estate agents as 'The Burges Estate' - that area bounded by the District Line railway,
the River Roding (near the A406), the Barking Road (A124) and the High Street (A117).
[For details of exactly what roads are in the parish, etc, please go to our Parish Map page.]
This is a very cosmopolitan, mainly residential area, and our congregation
reflects part of that variety of cultures. We welcome the richness that this brings. Our mission is to all in the parish,
whatever their origin or faith (or lack of faith!) We warmly welcome anyone seeking to know more about the Christian faith.
Maybe you have never been to a Christian church before, or perhaps you went to church as a child, but not since?
It matters not - you are just as welcome.
Looking for a Church to worship at?
We aim to make everyone feel welcome at St. Paul's, especially for those for whom this is a first visit!
If 'attending church' is a new activity for you, please don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure of anything.
The folk on the entrance door will help you, and can put you in touch with one of our regular members to guide you
through the services or answer your questions. After most of our services we have a time for refreshments in the Reception Area,
where you can chat and ask about anything you want clarification on.
If you prefer, drop into our Paul's Place Café and speak to people directly.
St. Paul's is happy to say that we have folk from all around the world worshipping with us. Our main services are held in English, but we also have a new Tamil Fellowship meeting on Sunday afternoons for those who would like to worship principally in the Tamil language.
To assist you:
We provide Large Print versions of any printed materials, Sound Reinforcement and Hearing Loop systems, access ramps and/or level access,
Toilets (including facilities for the disabled), and Baby Changing facilities. If you have particular needs that you feel we have not addressed,
please contact us and explain your difficulties. We are happy to assist you whenever possible.
Want to book a Wedding, Baptism or Funeral?
These can be booked with the Vicar or the Curate (See our Contacts Page for details)
or come and make contact at one of our services. If you are planning to come to St.Paul's for such a service,
you will find it helpful to experience one of our worship services prior to one of these special event services.
(It will help you feel more 'at home'.) For Weddings, please see our Weddings page for more details.
Want to contact old friends from St.Paul's, or join the "Friend's of St.Paul's"?
See our Friends page for more details.
Want to be kept up to date by joining our e-mailing list?
See our Feedback page for more details.
Development News:
Following on from our redevelopment of the hall and reception area a few years ago we have moved to the church building itself,
reordering of the worship area, installing new lighting, and redecorating. A new page has been added to the site to give details
(See our Development_News Page for details).
Check out the Audio Archive page, view the Video Collection and Photo Gallery, or view the photos of the recent building work and of the celebration weekend on our Development_News page!
